NATIONALE 7 : MEETING AND SHARING 1st day : ANTANANARIVO On your getting off the plane at the terminal you'll be met by Holidays Madagascar's representatives then you'll be presented your stay programme and you'll be given your travel document. Transfer to your lodging. The afternoon will be spent in discovering « The City with one thousand warriors » : the Queen's Palace, Independence Avenue, Anosy Lake, the craft market. Overnight stay in hotel 2nd day : ANTANANARIVO Day spent visiting Ambohimanga's Palace, 20Km away from the City. Considered as the cradle of the Merina Kingdom, Ambohimanga is a very attractive site which has allowed it to be considered as Unesco World Heritage Site. Overnight stay in hotel 3rd day : ANTANANARIVO – ANTSIRABE After leaving, you'll be driven on the Nationale 7 across undulating hills, plains and rice-fields which form a coloured mosaïc like a giant's patchwork. At Ambatolampy a stop to visit a workshop salvaging and transforming aluminium into diverse cookery utensils and pots. Arrival at Antsirabe the thermal spa around midday, independent lunch. The afternoon is reserved for going around the town of Antsirabe with visits of a lapidary's, of a workshop transforming horn. 4th day : ANTSIRABE Morning spent visiting the area with Tritriva crater lake and its legend. In the afternoon, a walk around Andraikiba another craterlake can be organised. Overnight stayin hotel 5th day : ANTSIRABE – FIANARANTSOA for this day, you'll go across a very mountainous area and from time to time you'll see villages with terraced ricefields below. The architecture of the houses always with typical Highlands pillars. After a few hours of drive, arrival at ambositra and short stop for visiting a wood carving and marquetry workshop. With restricted means and a lot of art and ingenuity the craftsman can make objets d'art for us. Arrival at Fianarantsoa in the late afternoon. arrival in Fianarantsoa and Overnight stay in hotel. 6th day : FIANARANTSOA Day spent visiting Fianarantsoa, a town known as the very image of Antananarivo In the afternoon, a visit to Maromby's property belonging to Trappist monks is planned. Their wine production intended to satisfy churches need in the beginning before being commercialised among the general public. Then, visit to Lazan'i Betsileo's property famous for wine-making in Madagascar. Afternoon spent on the banks of Sahambavy Lake, discovering at the same time the vast plantation of tea; this tea aroma is much appreciated by specialists. Overnight stay in hotel. 7th day : FIANARANTSOA - RANOHIRA Early morning departure for the legendary South gates announcing the sub arid climate of the southern part of the island, on your tour, visit to the workshop making Antemoro paper. Going across Ihosy town and the vast sub aride plateau of Horombe. Arrival at Ranohira in the late afternoon. Settling down at hotel. 8th day : RANOHIRA - ISALO this day is dedicated to visit the Isalo National Park, famous for its canyons and unique flora. The route to the park offers a panorama of huge savannah areas and hills with evocative profiles. You'll have the opportunity to discover numerous fauna species like: birds, reptiles, amphibians, primates particularly the ring tailed lemur or « Maky », the Sifaka and other species of lemurs ». Without omitting the flora growing on rocks Settling down at the hotel. 9th day : RANOHIRA- TULEAR After leaving Ranohira, continuation on the National 7 to reach Tulear passing by Ilakaka, the mushroom town of sapphire, emerged in 1998 and created by sapphire diggers after the discovery of a big sapphire by a peasant, in his field. You'll go across a scenery of thorny vegetation typical of the South flora. On your tour, you'll have the opportunity to discover the Mahafaly tombs ( one of the ethnic groups existing in the Island ). You'll reach the sunny town. Tulear in the afternoon. Settling down. 10th day : TULEAR After breakfast, free day spent in discovering Tulear town, a coastal town in the South West, anchored in the North of Tropic of Capricorn and anchored by a large coral neef. On the spot, you'll have the opportunity to admire the attractive Vezo fishermen's villages. So, possibility of visiting the Maritima Museum of the Institute of Halieutic Sciences, which shelters among its collections of shells, fossils and other sea occupants, three marvellous coelacanths escaped from Prehistory and fished in these last 7 years near Ste Augustine's Bay, without omitting the Museum of Mahafaly Arts and Traditions which presents a very interesting showcase of handicrafts and customs of the populations of the great South. Overnight stay in hotel 11th day: TULEAR – ANTANANARIVO Transfer to Tulear Airport to fly to Antananarivo.
